2/10-14京都にて開催中の「Savoir-faire des Takumi 対話と共創」に参加しております。
フランス在住のガラスアーティスト、モニカ・モイドスカさんと昨夏このプロジェクトを通して出会い、コロナ禍で互いに行き来はできませんでしたがzoomやwhatsappなどオンライン上で交流を図り、お互いの制作のインスピレーションや想いを話しながら制作をすすめてきました。
作っているもの（ガラス/書）や生活している場所（パリ/京都）は全く違うのに、感覚的なところが似ていて完璧な言葉がなくても伝わり、分かり合える、心地の良い時間でした。
彼女の作品はテクスチャーが美しく、自然を感じます。人の手で生み出されているけども自然を感じる。でも、自然そのものを象るわけではなく、抽象的な面もあり、見る人に想像力を与えます。
ガラスは器や瓶など容器として、書は言葉の伝達に使われる手段として、日常生活の中にあるものです。私たちは互いにその素材と向き合い、新たな側面を探っています。

「Savoir-faire des Takumi」は、京都市・パリ市の職人やアーティストたちが互いに交流し、それぞれの文化や技術からインスピレーションを受けながら、世界のアート市場に向けた、新しい作品の創作等をサポートするプロジェクトです。
日本の伝統工芸の粋が集まる文化都市・京都、そしてヨーロッパの最先端トレンド情報を世界へ発信する都市・パリ。この２つの歴史ある都市の連携によって「Savoir-faire des Takumi」プロジェクトは誕生しました。
各都市から選抜された職人やアーティストたちが、各国の工房をめぐり、ワークショップやディスカッションを重ね、自国にはない新しい技法を学び、お互いの独創性を養うことで、グローバルなアート市場を志向した新たな作品を創作します。
そうして生み出された作品は、日本とフランスの両国で展示されることで、これまで活躍してきた国や場所とは異なる文化背景を持つ方々に出会います。
また、このプロジェクトでは、世界のアート市場開拓を視野に入れ、職人やアーティストたちが経済的に自立・発展していくための基盤づくりを行うことも目的のひとつになっています。
「Savoir-faire」はフランス語で「匠」の「才覚・技巧・創造性」をすべて融合した言葉。そして「Takumi」は日本語の匠を表します。匠が生み出す作品は、完成した作品自体のみが美しいのではなく、その制作過程にも、独特の美と創造性が存在します。日本とフランス、それぞれの場所で育まれた技巧と感性を、対話を通じて交換することで新しい芸術の領域を開拓する試みです。
“Savoir-faire des Takumi” is a collaborative project to support artists and artisans from Kyoto and Paris, where they can interact and create new works geared towards the global art market while gaining inspiration through each other’s culture and techniques.
Kyoto, a cultural city of Japan where the essence of traditional arts and crafts is found, and Paris, the communication hub transmitting leading trends of Europe to the world – the “Savoir-faire des Takumi” project was created through the collaboration of these two historical cities.
Artists and artisans selected from both cities visit ateliers of their counterpart cities, learning foreign techniques and developing originality through hands-on workshops and discussions in order to create new works oriented towards the global art and interior design market.
These new works, exhibited in both countries, find new audiences from different cultural backgrounds. One of the objectives of this project is to build the foundation for the artisans and artists to become economically independent and grow, envisaging global art market development.
“Savoir-faire” is a French word integrating those characteristics that “takumi” would have: “ingenuity”, “technique” and “creativity”. And “takumi” is a Japanese word referring to highly skilled artisans. Their works are beautiful not only as finished products, but there is a distinctive beauty and creativity in the process. This project is an endeavor to develop new realms of art through the interactive dialogue of craftsmanship and sensibility nurtured both in Japan and France.

River’s lines
私たちのインスピレーションは、流れる川の中にある。Monika は「光」を、Saori は「線」を⾒出した。
⽔の動きは、⽣命の無限のサイクルを象徴している。
私たちは⾃然への敬意を持ち、そこにある美しさを探求している。 Monika は、実験的なスランプガラスの技法を⽤いて、ガラスの奥にある光の表現を 模索している。
Saori は、平⾯作品である書道の筆の強弱、速度、傾きさえ、それらすべてを重さを もって具体化を試みた。
そして、私たちは互いに調和し共存していくことを⽬指している。
Monika Mojduszka and Saori Kunihiro’s shared inspiration comes from the flowing river: Monika sees the light and Saori sees the line.
The motion of the water symbolizes the infinite cycle of life.
They are searching for the beauty that nature gives us. Through the experimental slumping glass technique, Monika explores the expression of light in the depth of glass. Saori attempts to embody two-dimensional calligraphy – the gravity of the brush with its contrast of stress, speed, and tilt.
They aim to coexist in harmony through our journey.
